Miffed

Miffed:

–noun

petulant displeasure; ill humor.

a petty quarrel.

to give minor offense to; offend.

When you hear the word miffed, you probably think it's only something old folks say. And maybe some elderly do say it, but your ideas become false from this point on. Me and my lovely friend Arden are heading a movement to put miff in the teenage vocabulary as a replacement to harsher and more inappropriate words.

For instance...

1. Suzie Q. is losing at a card game. Suddenly, all other players decide to gang up on her and make her gain even more unwanted points! Suzie was sad, but now she is angry. She shouts "Ugh, now I'm miffed!"
2. Suzie Q. and Johnny are dating. Then, Johnny breaks up with Suzie because he was bugging her. To his friend Bob, Johnny said this about the breakup: "Yeah, I dumped her because she was totally miffing me off!"
3. Johnny has been in a foul mood all day. (Possibly because now he is single.). Bob comes up to him and asks him what his wrong. He won't commit to a single answer, and just states he's "miffed at the world". 
4. Suzie and Johnny are in Mr.Miller's 7th period Spanish class. He is sad, because they are a rowdy class, and now he has to end the day being "miffed off". 
5. Suzie and Carol are having an argument. Carol slaps Suzie. She gets angry, and tells Carol to stop "before you miff me off any more!"

So yeah. As you can see, Miff is a much better alternative to not-so-nice words. Plus, it makes me giggle every time I say it! Miff, miff, miff. I honestly just giggled. 

Wouldn't it be nice to use miff in your everyday vocabulary and not be scorned? This is what we're trying to do here. Miff is a perfectly acceptable word that also happens to be particularly awesome. We, BeMiffed Inc., hope that you stash miff away in your mind and use it today!
