They are currently peppering the wall behind my "craft corner", a little nightstand I cleaned out to store my artsy supplies in. The wall behind it looked a little plain, and I was Stumbling around when I came across this, a paper flower key holder. I didn't really need a key holder, but I loved the flower so I decided to try it out for myself. If you want to try it with me, run and grab:
- A stapler
- An old book you don't mind using for crafts.
To start, tear out three pages from your old book. (Try not to cry. This craft is not for the faint-of-heart.)
Yes, I used an old Guardians of Gahoole book that I was never going to read. Next, find a lovely flower template. (I used this one.) Print it and cut it out.
Fold your three sheets of paper in half, and trace along the edges of the flower.
Cut along the line you just drew.
Arrange your flowers so the edges are nice and spread out. Find a very wordy flower you can put on the top.
Make an "x" with your stapler in the center of the flower.
Smoosh the center of your flower up, and continue to fold the edges up and together to give your flower shape.
The finished product:
I like to use a thumbtack in the center of the flower to affix it to my wall, but some tape would work too.
A whole mess of these flowers would look perfect on an empty wall of a book-lover's room. It would look spectacular if you also made a tree trunk for your flowers to live on.
Oh, creativity. It's just swell.
Love, Kendall
