the yellow daisy festival

Today, I went to the Yellow Daisy Festival. For those of you who don't know, the Yellow Daisy Festival is a huge handmade art fair located at Stone Mountain Park. It's something like the third biggest in the country, with over 2000 vendors. It's like Etsy, but in real life.

I really like shopping for trinkets and things, so moseying around the booths were very enjoyable. I was with a couple of friends, and we spent the afternoon ducking in and out of tents avoiding the rain. It was quite wet, but enjoyable nevertheless. We're very good at hunting down free samples of warm beverages or delicious fudge.

I think it's amazing that so many Southern artists congregate in one place to sell their wares to the public. I just love festivals in general, but it's odd to think that a fun day for me is sometimes a year of business to them. At a craft fair at a local church, some of the merchants spend all year stockpiling racks of gorgeous handmade items.

I purchased the bow that's in the picture above. I had been looking for a big bow for  a while, and I finally found one! It was in a booth marketed for toddlers, but oh well. I also bought some pumpkin pie spice fudge! Yum!
